Stop the Insanity

We've had such a fun-filled couple of weeks, apologies for the delayed posting. Over Labor Day weekend, James' parents were in town visiting us (ok, really they came to see Andrew). We took Andrew to his first museum, the Sixth Floor Museum (JFK museum) downtown. Thankfully everyone had an audio guide and they weren't able to hear Andrew squealing as we walked through the exhibit's somber content. We also had some great food although we're realizing that eating out just isn't going to be the same now that Andrew wants everything we eat and doesn't seem to be able to sit still for long periods of time. We've gotten into the habit of asking for the check once the food is delivered to expedite the process! Overall, Andrew was a huge hit with his grandparents and even scored some new noisy toys (Thanks Grandma & Grandpa). This kid is not going to want for anything!

This past weekend I celebrated my 29th birthday with my family. Colleen made dinner for me (a gift in itself) and my parents were in town so it was a nice little celebration. Andrew's gift is the fact that he's getting on his hands and knees and VERY close to crawling. He's been army crawling for the last couple of weeks and moves very quickly. This past week though, he's been pulling himself up to his hands and knees and rocks back and forth, as he prepares to make his move. We have to get very serious about babyproofing. We've being doing it little by little, but now we can't hesitate. Now that he's more mobile, he's been getting into everything. Just today, we were distracted doing things around the house and we found him under his exersaucer...that's right, he climbed INTO the saucer. I really can't believe my little baby is growing up so fast!! Oh and he's starting to get a little rhythm too, he was bopping to his Baby Einstein jams yesterday morning, it was too precious!

It's definitely feeling like Fall now that football season has started. James is in his glory to have both college and NFL football available all weekend long! Andrew is ready to go with his Notre Dame and Titans jerseys. Thankfully after this weekend, he can be proud to wear either...until next weekend of course! Poor kid doesn't stand a chance, he WILL be a football fan.

Finally, I just have to add this video of Andrew and his new favorite game of peek-a-boo. It's so cute that he finally gets the concept of the game and his anticipation.
